Last week we were told to make a flash ad for a website. we were to use photoshop and Adobe Fireworks. We had to use 10 tools from either Photoshop or Fireworks. Below is my ad:
I used photoshop first to make on of my pictures. I used the brush tool to make the background black and the brush to make the orange smoke. i used the free transform tool to adjust the size of my picutre. i used the text tool to make the text on my picture. on fireworks i used the align tool to align my photo to the canvas. i used the import tool to import the photos to the library. i then used the photos to make my ad. i used motion tweens to make it move from phtoto to photo. i used the transform tool to fit my pictures.
these tools helped me make my flash ad.

Ad
This is an advertisement for the logo I had made. I used photoshop to make it. The tools I used were the text tools, the brush tool, the transform tool, color swatches, the eyedropper, the eraser, and the select tool. I used the text tool for most of the text in the picture. It was easier to type out the words then to draw them with the brush tool. I used the brush tool to make the smoky background and to draw the XO with the heart in the top and bottom corner of the ad. I used color swatches to find colors that go together well and the eyedropper to match the colors so it looks natural. I used the transform tool to change the size of the text and to move it. I used the select tool to select which text I wanted to go back and edit. I used the eraser to fix imperfections in the picture. Below is my final result.

The logo I made is for a clothing line called OVO, or Octobers Very Own. The line was created by rapper/actor Drake. The line is fairly new and there isn’t a definite logo that I know of so I decided to make my own. The logo is very simple, it says OVO and under that Octobers Very Own. I used the colors that I did because they went very well together and they are easy to read. They also look good on the logo. I used a lot of free space so the person that was looking at it had a place to rest their eyes. I also used proportions to make sure it looked even.

My "Perfect" Body
The past few weeks in computer class have been exciting to say the least. Lately we have been studying Photoshop. We learned how the tools work and how to Photoshop photos. One thing in particular that we learned about was how magazines and ads in general photoshop images to make the model look perfect. We saw many videos showing how these companies and photographers use Photoshop. We were assigned a project. The project was we were to have a picture taken of ourselves and we didn’t know about the picture so we did not have time to fix hair makeup or anything, and we were to “fix” it in photoshop and we were to paste our face onto a celebrity body the celebrity I used was Ke$ha. Below are my results before and after.

As you can tell, these pictures are totally different but they are of the same person. You almost cannot tell that it’s the same person. I feel that the overall transformation looks fake. I don’t like the way it looks. I don’t like it because it isn’t me. This does not change my perception of magazines this just confirms what I already knew; the pictures you see on the cover and inside of every magazine is not real. No one really looks like that. This tells me that today’s perception of body image is shallow and misleading. Everyone has something they don’t like about themselves, no one is perfect but the way some magazines present the pictures makes it seem like you have to be skinny, and wear three pounds of makeup to look pretty. I think I did a good job photo shopping and airbrushing out the imperfections on my face and adding makeup. I could have done a better job of pasting the face on the body and blending the skin tones.

The Circle Of Mercy Is Timeless
In computer we learned to use photoshop. We did a project entitled "The Day in The Life of a Mercy Student." This project deplicts the daily activites of a girl that goes to mercy. We had to take pictures and make them into a collage and edit them in photoshop. The first useful tool I used was the crop tool. The crop tool crops pictures. It is useful because somethings that get in the picture take up space so I could cut these out. Another useful tool was the redeye tool. It made the photo look better and cleaner. The most useful tool I used was the transform tool. It made the picture bigger smaller or rotated the picture.
The another thing we learned during this project was the elements of photography. we used them in the pictures me took. We demonstrated how they made a difference in the picture and how it looked. When you use the elements it makes the picture look neater. I'm really glad we got to learn about Photoshop and how we can use it. Below is my collage.

Last week in class we learned about the different elements of photography. below are examples of the ones we learned; simplicity, lines, and framing.
The first picture is an example of simplicity. It works because its the only thing in the picture and you aren't distracted by other things going on. But, I made sure to leave extra space so that it was easy to look at and since there is only one thing in the picture it is the only thing you're looking at. It's simple, but still a good picture.
The next one is framing. It's different from simplicity because it has more going on. The curtains act as a frame around the lamp, which is the effect the framing picture has.
This picture is an example of lines. The fence is a horizontal line and it adds a lot to the picture. Using the horizontal line makes the picture more defined, but if i used a vertical line it would be hard to look at. The horizontal line flows better with the picture. It also shows how the fence is connected to the ground and where the grass touches it.
